Kid Onyx was founded to provide social emotional learning tools for children of color. Founder Nia King ,MSW wanted to create tools that represented the population that she works with ,in the inner cities of Los Angeles, Compton and Inglewood. 

 

King’s and Queens Emotion  Cards were created to teach young black children how to identify and manage their emotions . During the course of the pandemic there was an increase in stress, anxiety, and depression. Quarantine caused disruption in their schooling ,sleeping schedules, exercise, and social life. As they return to their everyday routines, The  Kings and Queens Cards  can teach children how to manage their emotions.
